P H O T O G R A P H Y - / / DREAMS III

I went over to a good friends house a few weeks back and got into a conversation with her 15 year old sister about her prom. She had said that because getting her hair styled, nails painted and fake tan sprayed would take too long, that her prom would be a 'NIGHTMARE!' This was instant inspiration for me as I got planning with my shoot.

At first I wanted to shoot in the same park I shot the last editorial, but due to weather I had to venture to a car park instead, but this worked out fine... I wanted my photos to look a bit more 'Edgy'
The models were fab bearing in mind they were given only a few days notice after a number of cancellations! (Life of a photographer)

London Fashion Weekend

Hey guys!
Well, I've been off my feet as always, but was lucky enough to go to London for the day with my good friend Zoey Groves... We got tickets for the London Fashion Weekend and got to see some great designers work!
We also got to watch a fashion show based on 4 new hot trends for S/S 13!
You can't beat a bit of monochrome! Here's some images from the day....

Beautiful Neon Clutches! from a various of designers including Michael Kors  and Marc Jacobs.

Beautiful nail gloves! I will be creating a DIY of this soon, to keep an eye out.

Stunning collection of leather jackets (I am a big sucker for all things pink, these hit my spot nicely)

Zoey Groves - wearing WE ARE HAIRY PEOPLES custom hand painted denim jacket.

The event wasn't what I was expecting if I am honest, I loved all of the shops, but with ticket prices being at £20 each, the stores had only designer clothing, at unaffordable prices for us students :( but it was nice to have a look at all of the lovely items!

My favourite new designer discovery is the up and coming British fashion designer, Charlotte Taylor. I am a sucker for animals and big prints, and when I found her shirt range from last season I fell in love!

P H O T O G R A P H Y - / / DREAMS I

For my latest University Project I have to create a book of images with a wide open brief. I decided to make my brief based on nightmares and dreams.
I was lucky enough to be given the chance to photograph in Cardiff Castle, I was allowed every room I wanted and the staff were wonderful!!

For my first test shoot, I used my 7 year old niece India as a model. She's constantly telling me how she wants to b a grown up and have lots of make up, a phone, ipad and every other thing a 7 year old shouldn't want. I remember being 7 and making dens in the local woods, tents in the living room, paper mashe-ing the living room table haha.

So I wanted to create a shoot that portrayed my niece as a miserable adult but still linking childlike factors. Including teddy bears, fairy lights, flower crowns and cupcakes.

LAVISH ALICE

Evening!
I spent a good few days searching the internet for a floral number to wear to Clothes Shoe Live this year. At first I searched for separate floral blazers with matching trousers, but as a student I don't have £80 to spend on a pair from Topshop/Zara/Miss Selfridge. So I hit the good old Ebay. A lot of the stuff going on there was hitting the £50 mark as a set, or £20 each on their own... This is when I found the above outfit. A 2 piece, jumper with matching cigarette trousers, (Which fit me perfect might I add! I'm a half size so when I got these in a 10 I was very impressed!)

The item was Brand New with Tags from the store Lavish Alice (Now available at BANK FASHION)The outfit itself is sold seperately online, costing £78 when bought together.. I won these goodies for £27.50 including P&P, receiving them two days later! Very happy woman with this!

The material is very thin, It wouldn't keep you warm on a chilly British evening, but they are also very soft and comfortable, which makes up for it in my eyes, very easy to chuck a smart black coat over the top of and be happy with it. The two pieces together are a bit of an eye sore due to the bright pattern... but can be split up using different accessories such as a big belt, chunky gold necklace and transparent clutch...(My ebay wishlist right now)
